READ: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15

What does this list mean? Why do you think God has listed all these admonishes out?

Why is it important to pay attention to those who are leaders in the church? What is their work? Why would it be bad to ignore the teachings and admonitions of church leaders? Why are we told to live at peace with others? Is there anyone with whom you are at odds? Go make things right. Who are we to be patient with? What is the best way to help those who are just idle and not involved at church? Today, find someone that you can mentor to help you do your ministry at church. Everyone needs to be mentored and to in turn mentor another.

About what are we supposed to be encouraging one another? What can happen in the twilight of our age if we decide not to encourage one another? Look around our culture and even in churches there is a distancing and hardening going on. As the day of judgement draws near, how can you encourage others who may be struggling with the darkness?

What does a breastplate protect? What does a helmet protect? What do you think it means to put on a breastplate of faith? Have you ever done that – put on faith in Jesus Christ? What does that protect for you? What does a breastplate of love mean? Who loves you for eternity? Who loves you in this life? What does it mean that you have a breastplate of love? What is it protecting? What about a helmet – what does it protect? Do you have understanding about your salvation? Where are you going when you die? A person who is saved, does not need to wonder; they can be sure.
