The Coming King- Digging Deeper: April 12, 2022

READ: John 1:11

What does this verse mean? This is a difficult passage. How do you think people would have reacted toward Jesus had He been born into human royalty? Today, contemplate your own heart reaction to Jesus as king over your own heart. Are there areas in your life where you do not receive Him as a king; where you wish He just would not look at that area of your life? The stark reality is He is still King, even when we wish He wasn’t. Bend your knee to your King, and lay those dark closets of your life before the cross.

The Coming King- Digging Deeper: April 11, 2022

Palm Sunday is a day to remember the triumphal entry of King Jesus into Jerusalem. But what transpired next was anything but a ‘human’ triumph. This week we dig more deeply into the work of God that made it a triumph.

READ: 2 Samuel 7:12-16; Luke 1:30-33

What did God promise about a coming king? Explain what a forever king might look like. Has there ever been a human king over Israel who was that sort of king? Who is the King, whose kingdom never ends? Thank God today for His forever King, Jesus Christ. What allegiance do you need to make to Him?

How are we to treat others around us? How does that glorify God? How does the world take notice when we treat others like God wants us to? What do you think the Bible means that we are to lay down our lives for others? Today, go out of your way to act sacrificially toward someone.
