At Hanoverdale Church we recognize we're all unique. This uniqueness is displayed in many areas of our
lives... including the way we worship. Join us online at our combined service for traditional and contemporary worship music and solid Bible teaching.
COMBINED IN-PERSON WORSHIP 9:30 AM EVERY SUNDAY
January 2, 2021
Dear Church Family,
Happy New Year! We pray you had a wonderful Christmas despite the current virus
situation. 2021 will be a great year for our church and His church. God is always good,
and we should and must be His “shining light” as we serve Him, our church, our
community, and our world.
As shared with you during the last communication to you a decision will be made
regarding the reopening of in-house Sunday morning worship services after the New
Year. The Board has voted to return to church for worship starting January 10. Just like
the vote to close three weeks ago, the vote was not unanimous. This is ok. We live in a
democratic society. We pray this decision, like the other decisions we have made during
this pandemic is what is best for our church, those attending our church and those we
interact with in our community. As mentioned, many times before, these are “no win”
decisions as people are divided regarding the pandemic. We are trying our best to make
the right decision.
When we return on January 10, we expect those in attendance to always wear a mask
while worshipping, not just while entering and exiting the building, for the protection of
all. It appears a new more contagious, but not more dangerous, strain is spreading across
the world. We want to prevent anyone from catching the virus while attending services.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
We also asked if you are feeling ill in any way, have been in contact with anyone who
has recently tested positive for the virus and are or should be quarantined, prefer not
wearing a mask, or are just uncomfortable about attending, to please worship from home
for the wellbeing of you and others. We continue to video record the messages to watch
online, listen to via the telephone, or you may receive a written transcript of the message.
If you need assistance receiving a transcript or getting the phone number to call to listen
to the sermon, please contact the church office. Hopefully, with the vaccine coming, we
will be able to return to some normalcy in the relatively near future.
Please continue to pray for our church, our country, and our world. Even though we do
not all agree with one another about this pandemic, we must stick together for as it says
in Mathew 3:25, “If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” The Board
is asking all of us to put aside our individual differences and biases and return our focus
to serving Him and others as we are called to do in John 13:34; “A new command I give
you: Love one another. As I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone
will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”
Keep smiling! Keep praying! God loves you and so do we.
