Read: Ephesians 4:24-27
What are we commanded to do/say to others around us? Why is that so important in the Church? Is it ever appropriate to speak falsely to someone else? Why or why not? Think about times when you know that you have been lied to. How did it make you feel? Would you rather know the truth or believe a lie if the truth were to hurt you? Today, choose to speak the truth.
Today it is getting harder and harder to know whether someone is telling you the truth or not. This week’s Digging Deeper explores the importance of telling the truth.

What were you like before becoming a Christ follower? Describe your pre- Christ “old self.” What does verse 22 say about the old self? What is deceit? What does that mean about your desires before you accepted Christ? How does the new self differ? How can we be recreated to be like God? Today ask God to instill His true righteousness and holiness in you.
Read: Isaiah 53:10-11; 1 Peter 1:1-2
What has the Lord offered His offspring (the Son of God, Jesus Christ)? What was there after His suffering? What happened to our sins? How are we sanctified? What does the sprinkling of His blood have to do with your salvation? Today, thank God for the cleansing of your soul and the entrance into heaven at the end of this life.
