READ: Hebrews 10:25; 32-34; Acts 8:1

Whom was the Book of Hebrews written to? What were they enduring? Who was the persecution against? What was their attitude during the persecution? The book of Hebrews is written to prevent Christians from falling away as things got really hard. It was written to encourage people to stick with Jesus since He is a better choice to cling to than anything else out there. Why was the Bible saying to keep on meeting in this context? We are not under great persecution, but the heat of mocking and persecution against our faith is on the increase. Stay close to the Lord. Stay close to one another to be guided toward the Lord.

With the pandemic, we were encouraged to stay home, away from crowds in order to show compassion and care. That was short-lived during the worst of the epidemic. This week’s Digging Deeper looks at how this differs from forsaking meeting together.

READ: Hebrews 10:25; 1 Thessalonians 5:2; 2 Peter 3:10

This passage commands that we not stop meeting together. According to the last part of the verse, when are we to especially be vigilant to meet regularly? What day is approaching? Why is that a reason to meet? How is that different from not meeting because of a concern of love? The church is known because of its love for one another. Today, whether you are comfortable coming or not make sure that your reasons show love and care for the Body of Christ.

READ: Blessed; vs. 28-31

Why is the noble person blessed beyond others? Is it good enough to just be called blessed? How is this person truly blessed? Fearing God does not being scared of Him. What does it mean to have a godly fear Him? Today understand that being in awe of God and respecting that He is Lord in your life will transform you into a person He will change and turn into a noble person.
