Why is Christ’s death so important for our faith? What does His dying have to do with our living? What would be true about our sin nature if Christ had not died? What does His love express about His feelings for us? Today thank Him for paying the ultimate price for you.

What was true of the early church that was so attractive to outsiders? Name the elements of what was important to the early church. In what way do we practice the same elements of worship? Is it important for you to participate in a worship service? Why or why not? Which of the elements gives you the most joy? Why were the disciples performing signs and wonders? Do we enjoy the favor of all people today? Why not? What can you do to begin changing that in your life?

According to verse one, what should happen when someone preaches to you? What does it mean to you to receive a message from the Bible? What does it mean to take a stand on the message? Verse two seems to indicate that a person better not be wishy-washy in faith. What do you think happens if you really do not stand on the Word when things get hard? What are the three elements of the Gospel according to verses three and four? Why is it important to you that all three be believed? Today, think about the importance of the Gospel in your own belief. Ask God to show you why He wants you to believe the Gospel.
