Read: 1 Corinthians 11:17-32

One of the ordinances of the church is called Communion. What does the name convey? Whom are we supposed to be in communion with? What do the two elements of communion symbolize? What is the symbolism of the bread for a believer? What does the cup symbolize? In verses 24 and 25 we are told to do what when the elements are handed out? Why is it a dangerous thing to not reflect on the elements? The next time the bread and cup communion are offered, take seriously the opportunity to make amends with the Lord or any other person with whom you are at odds. And then reflect and remember everything that Christ has done for you.

Read: Matthew 26:17-30; John 13:1-17; Acts 2:46

Love Feast is the most sacred of gatherings for a congregation. What is the purpose of the love feast? Why did Jesus have this one last meeting with His disciple? What was His hope for an outcome? Today it is very easy to find reasons to not meet together. Why is it a mistake to not be in relationship with other believers? We will gather when it is safe to do so for a Love Feast. Decide today that you will join us when it is offered.

This week Digging Deeper will ask the question, what are the ordinances of the Church?

Read: Matthew 28:19; 1Corinthians 12:4-6; 2Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 2:18; 3:14-17; 4:4-6; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15; Hebrews 6:4-6; 1 John 3:23-24; 4:2; Jude 1:20-21; Revelation 1:4-5

What part of the ministry of Jesus does Baptism connects us with? As you read through these verses what do you learn about the members of the Trinity? How does triune immersion connect us with God? Going into the water of a bath will cleanse you? What does baptism symbolize spiritually? As a Christ-follower how are you connected to His death? How about His burial? How are you connected to His resurrection? Triune immersion is the only symbol that symbolizes all that baptism stands for. How are the different positions of baptism connected to the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ? Standing in the waters symbolizes what? Kneeling symbolizes what? Submersion into the water symbolizes what? Standing up from the baptism symbolizes what?
