Esther almost lost her head. Why? She also almost lost the head of her people. Why? What was she afraid of? What was the second chance after her unwillingness to be counted by God as a heroine of her people? What sort of character does Esther exhibit? Why did God put her on the throne? What does that tell you about God? Sometimes stepping out for God is risky. What are your fears in giving yourself wholeheartedly to God’s work for your life? Can you trust God as she did?

Why was this woman desperately in need of a second chance? Where was she going when Elijah met her? How did she demonstrate great faith in God? How did God reward her? What devastation occurred that rocked her faith? Could Elijah be trusted even at this low point? Why? This woman tried her faith for its genuineness. In what way is your faith being tried for its genuineness? How are you standing up to your trials? How can you practice your faith better?

Sometimes great wealth and fame can be a great burden. Who was the Queen in our story? Why was it remarkable that she traveled thousands of miles to visit the King of Israel? What did she discover about him that was different from other rulers? How was she given a second chance from the suffocation of great wealth and power? What conclusions did she come to from all she saw and heard? How do we see that she was changed forever by this visit? Do you think that this visit led her to God? What do you consider from her to be an example for you to follow if you are caught in your own wealth or importance?
