Read: Luke 2:15-20

Who were the first to meet Jesus after his birth (besides Mary and Joseph)? Why do you suppose they were the first to witness the new baby? In vs. 16 it says they hurried to meet Jesus. The Greek word is ‘hurry, desire earnestly, or hasten’. What did they do when they got there? What did they do after they went back to their sheep? What was the result of sharing with others> Today, don’t hurry away to other things, hurry toward the Lord and intentionally adore Him for ways He has cared for you.

Read: Luke 2: 8-12; Ezekiel 34:11-12

Why were the shepherds afraid? Why was there no need to be afraid? Were they included in those whom God would be good news? What was the good news? What were they asked to do? Was this one-sided? Thank God today that you don’t have to gook endlessly for help from God. He is searching for you.

Read: Ezekiel 34:1-15

What kind of people were the shepherds described in this passage? What was their greatest concern and interest? How were they treating those who were under them in vs. 4-6? What does God say will happen to these evil shepherds of the people? Who will care for the people instead? Today, check your heart of leadership. To whom are you a leader? What is your challenge in leading those under you? Spend time asking God to turn you into a servant leader.
