Moving Forward- Digging Deeper: April 17, 2021

(Read Romans 8:1-11) What does the Holy Spirit do to set you spiritually free? How does a person live according to the Spirit in this sinful world? What sort of spiritual things do you think the Spirit of God wants you to set your mind toward.? Many people live their lives searching for more that this world has to offer. Today, choose to live not for this world but for the world to come. Set your mind on heaven. Thank Him that you will be raised to immortality. Now begin to live that way. Ask God the Holy Spirit to live through you.

(Read John 14:16-21; Acts 2:1-4; 1 John 4:13) Why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us? What does it mean to you that He is a Counselor? How are you not a spiritual orphan? How does Jesus come to us (vs. 18) if He is in heaven? What does it mean to you that you can be filled with the Holy Spirit? Today, thank God that you are indwelled by the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to fill you so that you are walking in step with Him and energized to serve Him in the power that comes with the Holy Spirit.

(Read Genesis 1:2; Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18; 2 Corinthians 3:3, Romans 8:9) Yesterday we talked about the Holy Spirit being a Person. What else is true about the Holy Spirit? Do you see how He is God? What does that mean to you? Is He worth paying attention to? Why? (Isaiah 11:2; John 6:14, 17). Today thank Him that He is for you.
