Moving Forward- Digging Deeper: April 12, 2021

The Book of Acts is a book that demonstrates how every believer is to be a witness of Christ. That only happens when the Holy Spirit empowers your words of witness. Here are some passages of Scripture to help you dig deeper into the Word to discover a healthy balance of the Word of God and the Spirit of God working together:

(Read Galatians 4:1-7) With God, your faith should move past religion and become a warm relationship. What does Galatians 4 suggest we become when we become followers of Christ? How does God confirm that in your life? Where is the Holy Spirit in a Christ follower? The word Abba is a term of endearment like a Father being called ‘Daddy’. Today thank God for your adoption and inheritance into His family.

Digger Deeper: April 3, 2021

What is written on the robe and thigh of Messiah? Who is this Person? He is also called the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). What does Revelation 5:6 -14 call this King? He came to forgive the sins of any who will claim Him as their King. Why is he more than just a military or political king? What does it mean to you that this King is the sacrificial Lamb? As you prepare for celebrating His resurrection tomorrow, give Him your heart today.

(Read Zechariah 9:9-10)

When the prophet Zechariah foretells the coming of a new king to restore the people’s fortunes, what describes this one? Jesus’ mode of transportation was what? What does that symbolize about how He will rule your heart? If He rules your heart what does that mean about how He helps you become peaceable (vs. 10). Today consider your heart. If there is anger and strife, realize that you may need to give yourself to the Lord again.
