READ: Hebrews 4:3-4; Genesis 2:3

Why did God rest from His labors on the 7th day? What was He doing during that Sabbath rest? Why are we told to rest one day a week? Why is it so hard to do? What prevents you from entering a day in which to concentrate on God’s goodness rather than immersing yourself in the ‘daily grind’ of life? What do you suppose would happen if you were to spend time each week, giving God time spent with Him? Today, choose to give a rest from your daily life in the world. Try it for one month and see how it changes your life.

What is the full Gospel of Christ? Why is it important that we not just preach about Christ dying, but about Christ being buried and rising back to life? Where are the sins of people who have faith in Christ? Where are your sins? What is true of the followers of Christ because Christ rose from the dead? Today, that God for eternal life that comes with Christ.

How does a person find everlasting rest? This week we dig deeper into what is a better rest in God than what we can come up with ourselves.

What is promised to followers of Christ? What does that look like? What are we warned about that can derail rest with God? How does a person fall short of God and His expectations? What would it mean to be forgotten by God? Today think about what this means to be peacefully, blissfully at peace and at rest with God. Thank God today for your salvation from being eternally separated from the Lord.
