(Read Deuteronomy 17:16)

Deuteronomy lists what should be true of a king. What does 17:16 say about amassing horses? Why is that a problem to do so? (Psalm 20:7) Wherein is our strength? One commentator suggests that a king riding in on a war horse would give the impression of ruling through might, but the donkey or mule as the king’s steed, shows a peaceful rule. By riding in on a donkey, Jesus symbolically showed that He is King, but that His Kingdom was a spiritual, peaceful kingdom. Does that mean that Jesus was not in charge? What aspect of riding a donkey showed that He is in control . Is He in control of you today? Give Him your heart.
