The Apostle’s Creed refers to the ‘holy catholic’ Church. What does that mean? In this creed the word catholic means ‘general, universal, complete, concerning the whole’. It simply means the complete and True body of believers throughout time who have confessed their sin, placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior who died, rose again and is in heaven preparing a place for His followers, and who have been adopted by God into His Body – the Church.
