Have you ever really considered how much mercy and compassion He has shown you? Today, ponder that and thank God for being merciful and full of grace toward you. Then, think of someone upon whom you should be merciful. Go ahead. Be more like Christ and show mercy toward someone today that just doesn't deserve it.

When your spiritual hunger is not fed you will grow hard to the things of the Lord. But when you begin to read your Bible or just quietly spend time with the Lord asking Him to feed your soul everything changes for you. Today, read Romans 5:1-5 and list the spiritual food that Christ will give a person when they are serious about their faith. There are at least six key words that will feed your soul.

When one looks at John 6:55-71, one will think that this passage sounds like we are to eat the flesh of Christ and drink His blood. Obviously, that is not what it really means. What was Jesus talking about? He had just fed thousands of people bread and fish. He fed their bellies but now He is trying to feed their souls. He calls Himself the Bread of life. He would 'break' that bread when hanging on the cross. His blood would be spilled as well. Eating the Bread of life means accepting the gift of salvation that is only found in Christ. Drinking the blood means accepting that gift of his shed blood that washes away sin. Today, reflect upon His broken body and shed blood for you.
