2 Timothy 1:1-2; Proverbs 20:6; 2 Chronicles 16:9

Who was Timothy to train? Discipling stands and falls on these words. What is distinctive of a faithful person? How can we know who is a faithful person whom God wants to train up? Are you one who is faithful to the place where God could begin to have you be mentored? How about becoming a mentor to others? If so, talk to the Pastor about getting involved in a mentoring program.

2 Timothy 2:1-2; 2 Timothy 3:10-11

What is the clue to a healthy discipleship as seen in this text? What sort of person was Timothy to be? What does that tell you about the sort of person who should be a discipling mentor? What was he to be teaching? What is the significance of Timothy teaching Paul’s teaching? What is the difference between what Paul might have taught in the presence of many at a public meeting and in a private conversation with Timothy? Why would he tell him to teach the former? What are some of the things that Paul taught publicly? What are you concentrating on in your Christian growth?

Making disciples is a mandate of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. He died for people and the only way that people will have a relationship with God is by placing their faith in what Christ has done. This week we dig deeper into viewing the world through the lenses of the disciples that we will produce. The world will only be won for Christ as disciples are multiplied.

John 1:35-42; Matthew 4:18-20; Matthew 16:15-18

What did Peter do for work? What would he become? How did Jesus view Peter? What does the name Peter mean? What does it mean to you that the Lord does not see us for who we are today, but who we will become? How does God see you? What about you, does He want to use for His Kingdom? What areas of growth or changes need to be occurring for you to be all God hopes for?
