Read: Hebrews 6:13-20

Faith is so important when life becomes a shipwreck. Paul and the others on the ship had lost human hope. When they realized that they were in shipwreck alley, at one point, it says in Acts that they lowered the anchors to slow their out-of-control lives in the storm. Christian, you must know when to drop anchor. The LORD has provided us a divine anchor. “we have an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…” His name is Jesus. He is your anchor.


Read: Matthew 14:24-33

Where is Jesus when your life is being battered by the hurricanes of life? What did He say to the disciples in the midst of their storm? Is that even possible? How does peace come when you are in trouble? What did Peter do? Today ask the Lord to grab your hand and walk with you through your storms. Remember, keep your eye on Jesus, not the storm.


Read: I John 1:9

If your life has crashed upon the rocks of sin what hope is there for you? What condition is necessary to deal with your sin? You need to talk truth to God about your sin. Don’t try to excuse your sin. Just confess it. And also confess your attitudes that led to sin. Confess your pride, selfishness, anger, or rebellion were part of the problem. What is true when confession is made? Why can we trust in God’s faithfulness? What is true about His forgiveness? It is just because He already paid the price on the cross. Today, thank God for His forgiveness through His shed blood.
