Psalm 68:18; Matthew 5:223-24; Mark 11:24-26

What makes a quiet place a holy place? When you are in the presence of God, is there anything that you can hide from Him? What must we do when we come into the holy light of His presence? What will hinder our prayers according to Matthew? Do you have a forgiving spirit or a critical, unforgiving heart? Today, humble yourself before God. Forgive the one who has offended you. Come to the throne with a holy heart.

Matthew 6:5-6

There are many different ways to pray. What does this text say about those different ways to pray? Will God honor the loud, public prayer where someone enjoys the sound of his own voice? What about on the golf course or the beach? What is the meaning of the secret place of prayer? Who hears the prayers in the secret place? Why is it important to pray in secret? Do you have that secret place where you can get alone with God? Go and shut the door, and spend time with your Father.

James 5:16-18

What do these passages in Isaiah tell us of the goals of God regarding the peoples of the earth? Who is the servant in Isaiah 42 and 49? What if Israel fails to be God’s delight and nation of priests to the nations? Is all lost for the Gentile nations? What will God do for non-Jewish seekers who honor and praise God? What is the full title of the church in Isaiah 56? Today thank God for the nations of believers who worship with you. What can you do to encourage inclusion in the ministry for all groups? Ask someone from another culture about their worship of the Lord. Ask them to pray with you.
